Volunteer

Want to get more involved? Become a PAL Ambassador. PAL Ambassadors are volunteers who help us engage with the community, create projects, & fundraise. Being a PAL Ambassador is easy and there are many different things you can do depending on your time, skills, and level of comfort.

Engage your community

Speak about our work to members of your community, especially those with the power, money and/or influence to help. We must help our communities understand the urgent economic and cultural imperatives of keeping our work force and our local families from being driven from their ancestral homeland.

Grow our digital presence

Follow us on social media and like, share, and comment on our posts. Subscribe to our newsletter. Encourage others to do the same. Growing our online presence helps us spread our message and reach new pools of donors.

Find us properties

PAL currently has active projects on Kauaʻi, but our goal is to expand to all of the islands. Help our team identify properties that may be good candidates for development. Some of the characteristics of a suitable property, in order of value, are:

  1. Zoned multi-family

  2. Subdivided or CPR’d

  3. Reasonably priced based on the current market

  4. Near infrastructure

  5. Seller willing to support the project by offering owner financing or accepting a lower purchase price and taking a substantial write-off by donating a portion of the profits through a Bargain Purchase Transaction.

Solicit donations

If you are unable to donate, help convince others who can donate to do so. Approach your community members and local businesses about supporting affordable housing. Having funds to quickly pursue an opportunity is one of the biggest hurdles to affordable housing. All donations are tax-deductible.
